The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Brits prepare for first international of new season

A team of 18 British swimmers will compete at November’s European Short Course Championships in Chartres in the first international swimming championships since the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The British Gas GBR Swimming Team features a mixture of experienced swimmers and talented youngsters making their senior debut at an international competition.

We’re looking forward to kicking off the first competition of the new quadrennial cycle with a good solid week.

Hannah Miley, who won silver and a bronze at last year’s competition in Szczecin, will be heading up the team which also includes London 2012 Olympians Robbie Renwick, Aimee Willmott, Michael Rock and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor

Joining them will be Jack Burnell, Lauren Quigley and Karley Mann who took home medals from the US Open meet in August on their senior team debuts. European Junior champions Joseph Patching and Molly Renshaw will also be included.

Mark Rose, Head Coach for the meet said: “We’re looking forward to a fast meet in France. We know the Europeans will be up for swimming fast.

“We’re looking forward to kicking off the first competition of the new quadrennial cycle with a good solid week.”

The competition will be held at The Odyssey Complex in Chartres, France from the 22nd – 25th November and will see the introduction of mixed relay teams for the first time in international swimming.
