The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Jackson and Tancock receive world record certificates

British Swimming Head Coach Dennis Pursley awarded Jo Jackson and Liam Tancock with their world record certificates at Loughborough University’s Swimming Pool.

Jackson enjoyed success throughout 2009 with three medals from the Rome World Championships and two world records.

The Olympic bronze medallist broke both the 400m Freestyle long course and short course record throughout her successful season.

World Champion Tancock broke the men’s 50m Backstroke world record in both the semi-final and final on his way to becoming World Champion.

Tancock has enjoyed early season success as he was crowned British Champion in the 100m Backstroke in Sheffield in March.
