Jamieson named Speedo ambassador
6th March 2013
Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson has been announced as Speedo’s latest Ambassador.
Jamieson, who won silver in the 200m breaststroke at London 2012 and more recently silver in the same event at December's World Short Course Championships in Istanbul, will work with Speedo to promote swimming across the country.
I have been swimming since I was four years old and have always worn Speedo.
Jamieson said: “I have been swimming since I was four years old and have always worn Speedo. I am really looking forward to a great partnership with them over the next two years in the run up to a home Commonwealth Games.”
Speedo UK Marketing Manager Sally Polak said: “It’s great that we have Michael on board - he is a fantastic ambassador for swimming; a great fit for the brand, and has a bright swimming career ahead.”
The new deal will see the partnership between Speedo and Michael go through to the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Jamieson’s native Glasgow where he will compete in the same pool he trained in for many years.
