26 July 2011
Michael Rock will be in action in the semi-finals of the Men’s 200m Butterfly at the World Championships in Shanghai after the British Gas GBR swimmer qualified from this morning’s heats in 16th.
The Commonwealth silver medallist (British Gas ITC Stockport) posted a time of 1:57.03 while team mate Joe Roebuck (Loughborough University), in preparation for his individual medley swim later in the week, finished the heats in 24th place in a time of 1:58.20.
In the Women's 200m Freestyle, Jo Jackson (British Gas ITC Loughborough) and Becky Adlington (Nova Centurion) were unable to make it through to tonight's semi-finals after they finished 23rd and 24th respectively in 1:59.36 and 1:59.40.
“I was still pretty sore from the 400m Freestyle,” said Adlington, who won 400m Freestyle silver less than two days ago in Shanghai.
“I would have liked to have goner quicker this morning but now I have to focus on the 800m Freestyle on Friday and we still have a job to do in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay.”
