Trio of British medals in Singapore

Hannah Miley, Sophie Allen and Lizzie Simmonds all scored medals on the second day of the 2013 FINA World Cup (25m) leg in Singapore.

For full results from the Singapore leg of the 2013 FINA World Cup, click hereGarioch swimmer Miley was the top British perfomer, landing 400m Individual Medley silver in 4:28.75 behind Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu (4:27.60) as well as finishing fourth in both the 400m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke.

Having won two silvers on the opening night, Simmonds completed her hat-trick of medals with bronze in the 100m Backstroke.

The British Gas ITC Bath swimmer was within a second of her British record as she touched in 57.58 behind Hosszu (57.04) and Australia’s Emily Seebohm (57.23).

Simmonds’ training partner Allen won her second medal of the meet, adding 200m Breaststroke bronze in 2:23.36 to her 100m Breaststroke bronze from 24 hours before.

The eight British swimmers will now travel to Tokyo for the next leg of the World Cup on 9 – 10 November.
