British finish 18th in Greece

17th September 2012

Anastasija Bates and Hannah Green finished 18th in the Duet competition at the World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships in Volos, Greece.

The British pair scored 38.2500 for technical merit and 39.0000 for artistic impression to collect an overal score of 77.2500 for their preliminary free routine.

With only the top 12 duets progressing to the final, Bates and Green narrowly missed out as they finished 18th out of 27 pairs with the Netherlands' Anouk Horrevorts and Lynn Van Krimpen scoring 80.1500 to seal the final qualification spot.

The young Brits - along with Sam Wilson, who also travelled to Greece - will now return to full-time training with the senior squad at the High Performance Centre in Aldershot.
