The British Gas Synchro Team that has been competing at the FINA World Trophy in Montreal, Canada concluded their competition with a top eight finish in the overall rankings.

The Team enjoyed success early in the competition in the Free Team, Thematic Duet and Solo events and went into the Free Team Combination wanting to finish on a high.

The athletes scored slightly higher in the event than in the Free Team when they finished with scores of 8.9 – 9.0 and a total of 89.000.

In the overall Trophy rankings the British Gas team finished in eighth place and came away with $8,000 in prize money.

On the performance National Performance Director Biz Price commented:

"This has been only the second artistic competition for the girls and we had some really good highlights but we did finish with disappointment in the Combo. We wanted to do better in this event. We have moved ahead of a couple of countries in some events but not all of them."

"We have received some very positive feedback from the judges, officials and other countries about the progress that the girls have made and that is pleasing. It was an exciting competition overall with much more of a mix of countries on the podium which shows how the sport is developing."
