British Synchros head to Spain

23rd February 2012

The British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming Team is heading to Barcelona this weekend for their first competition of the season at the Spanish Open Winter Championships.

The Brits will compete in the team and duet events in Spain where they will unveil their recently choreographed Olympic routines which they have been working on in the off-season.

The British women enjoyed a successful 2011 season, finishing in the top 10 in each event at last summer's World Championships.

They spent three weeks putting the finishing touches to their routines at a training camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, working with renowned choreographer Stephan Miermont and former Olympic champion Tammy McGregor in November last year.

Former Olympic figure skating champion Robin Cousins has also been helping the girls with technique and choreography in recent months as they build up to the biggest season of their lives.
