Brits ready for first European Junior Champs

14th May 2013

Three of the country’s top junior synchronised swimmers are heading over to Poznan, Poland for the European Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships.

Imogen Smith, Lilian Ryan and Corrie Leech make up the British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming team as they look to gain valuable experience by competing against the best in Europe.

Smith will be competing in both the Solo and Duet with Leech and all three athletes will also participate in the figures competition.

New Junior Head Coach Isabelle Rampling will be coaching the athletes and is hoping this competition will help with their development.

“The expectations are that the part-time GB athletes have great performances and they learn a lot from this event,” Rampling said.

“Since training began in February there has been a huge amount of progress and things have been going very well in their preparation for the competition.”
