Randall and Allison preparing for season at California training camp

12 January 2011

Commonwealth silver medallists Jenna Randall and Olivia Allison will fine-tune their preparation for the 2011 season at a three-week training camp in San Francisco.

The Great Britain Duet pair will train with former Olympic champion Tammy McGregor, former USA Olympic coach Gail Emmery and renowned choreographer Stephan Miermont during a three week spell at Walnut Creek Synchro Club.

Randall and Allison enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2010, entering the world’s top ten for the first time after finishing fifth at the European Championships and scooping silver in Delhi.

And High Performance Manager Adele Carlsen insists the training camp in California will pay dividends as the pair look to continue their rise through the rankings at the European Cup in May and World Championships in July.

“The main aim of the camp is to choreograph their technical duet routine and work on the technical elements of this routine,” said Carlsen.

“These coaches specialize in the technical skills of the sport so this training camp will help lift their technical performance ready for the World Championships later in the year."

Jenna and Olivia will be blogging from Walnut Creek where they’re training in an outdoor pool in temperatures of about ten degrees...and plenty of rain!
