Synchro swimmers end competition on a high
The British Synchronised Swimming Team, powered by British Gas, have finished their competition in Germany with a number of good results that will give the team confidence ahead of the European Champions Cup.
The final day of competition saw the Brits feature in the Solo, Duet and Team finals. And with the bronze medal in the Combination yesterday the athletes went into today with confidence.
The Duet of Jenna Randall and Olivia Allison took to the water in the Free Routine final and went into it lying in 11th position. They performed well and showed the benefits of their recent training camp in San Francisco.
They finished with a score of 87.8800 in fifth place overall ahead of strong Duets from the USA and Greece.
Jenna Randall just missed the medals in the Free Solo final after finishing in fourth place with a score of 89.5000.
Commonwealth silver medallist Randall performed her routine with high intensity and secured a number of nines in the scoring but missed bronze by just two points.
The Free Team final, which sees all eight athletes swimming at the same time, put in a similarly impressive performance as they secured fifth place overall.
The girls performed their routine to the theme of the War of the Worlds and enjoyed good scores to close the gap on their close rivals France.
