Synchro swimmers selected for Barcelona
10th July 2013
The British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming Team has been named to face the challenge of competing on the world stage with six athletes competing at their first major international competition.
The 12-strong contingent have been working together in Aldershot since January and competed at their first competition at the Spanish Open in June.
Six London 2012 Olympians, including Jenna Randall and Olivia Federici, will make their return to world-level competition while sharing their experience with the new members of the team.
Randall and Federici will be showcasing their Olympic routines in both the Duet Free and Duet Tech and Randall will take part in both Solo events as she demonstrates why she is the British number one.
National Performance Director Biz Price said: “The first year after an Olympics always brings about changes and we have seen that in our team this year.
“We have six athletes making their World Championship debut and I believe that the rest of the team will share their experiences and support them during the competition.
“The coaches and medical team have worked hard throughout the year to prepare the athletes for the competition and we have finalised the preparations on our camp in Malta.”
