The British Gas women’s water polo team will be taking on some of Europe’s most promising water polo nations from tomorrow at the Manchester Aquatics Centre as they bid to take home the LEN Women’s European Nations Water Polo Trophy.

The 13-strong team have been drawn against some tough competition as they fight for European honours on home soil from 7th – 12th July 2009.

With eight of Europe’s up-and-coming water polo nations going head-to-head for the prized trophy, expectations for the British Gas water polo team will be high after the team reached the final at the last LEN Championships in Prague.

Tomorrow will see the British Gas team take on Belarus in the first of their three preliminary matches, and will subsequently face Portugal on Wednesday 8th and Slovakia on Thursday 9th with the semi-finals and finals being contested on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th respectively.

Prince William will be among the many avid supporters and spectators on Thursday to watch the British Gas team in their European campaign. The Royal guest will also meet with individual players and key figures within the sport and business communities.

The eight competing nations are: Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Portugal, Slovakia, Switzerland and Ukraine. So book your place to be at the heart of the action now.
