Hoy hat-trick settles battle of Britain

Siobhan Hoy bagged a hat-trick as City of Manchester saw off domestic rivals City of Liverpool in their final LEN Euro League qualifier.

For full results from the LEN Euro League qualifiers, click here to view the LEN website.Competing in the final match of Group C at Manchester Aquatics Centre, the home team never looked back after taking a 3-1 lead in the first quarter and eventually ran out 12-7 (3-1, 2-1, 3-3, 4-2) victors to end their qualification campaign on a high.

Casey Smith, Rosie Egan and Honor Grimes all bagged two goals for Manchester while British senior player Katie Hesketh responded with a hat-trick for Liverpool.

In Group B, London Otter finished with a defeat by group winners KINEF-Surgutneftegas of Russia.

Sarah Tollefson, Michaela Sazama and Alexis Higlett all found the net for Otter but they could not prevent a 26-3 (6-1, 6-0, 9-1, 5-1) loss.
