Nousios joins British water polo coaching team

3 December 2013

Theo Nousios has been named new Assistant Coach for the British Gas GBR Women’s Water Polo Team.

Most recently he has been in post of Head Coach of the City of Manchester Water Polo Club and coached the women’s team to victory at the British Gas Water Polo Championships.

Nousios will be working alongside Head Coach Konstantinos Vamvakaris in Manchester as the sport completes its new staffing structure and puts its plans for Rio qualification in action.

“I am excited to be given the opportunity to work with the GB women's team,” Nousios said. “It is a great challenge that I am ready to take on. I am sure the whole team will work hard and methodically towards all the major targets. I am looking forward to the cooperation with Kostas and the girls.”

National Performance Director Graeme Thompson added: “I am delighted that Theo will be joining as Assistant Coach. He will bring very good knowledge of the British game, will add value to our Coaching team, and has previously done the same role from 2003-2006.

“His appointment completes a period of significant full time staff recruitment for the GB Women’s programme.”
