World Class Para-Swimming Programmes Selection Policies

The World Class Programmes are in place to fund and provide support to athletes who have the ultimate goal of reaching the Paralympic Podium.

There are two programmes that make up the World Class Pathway:

  • World Class Podium Programme - this programme supports athletes with realistic gold medal winning capabilities at the next Paralympic Games.
  • World Class Podium Potential Programme - this programme supports athletes who's performances have suggested they have a realistic chance to qualify for 2016 but who are aiming for medal success in 2020 and beyond.

To be considered for a place on the World Class Programme athletes must meet the criteria as set out in the selection policies outlined below.
