The purpose for establishing the SCA is to produce a mechanism through which British Swimming can engage with Athletes.

The focus of the SCA Executive Committee is to canvass athlete opinions, generate ideas and disseminate information back to the athletes relating to projects being undertaken by British Swimming. The committee will act as an advisory group for all departments of British Swimming. The SCA Executive Committee will also develop its very own strategic vision as a way of actively increasing athlete engagement with British Swimming; and contribute to innovation and progression.

Topics for discussion include all matters affecting or involving elite athletes. For example, National competition feedback and recommendations, Anti-doping rule changes, Code of conduct amendments, event management for international events in the UK, team kit etc.

For the SCA committee group to be fully engaged in the projects and direction British Swimming embarks on it is aimed that the committee will hold their meetings a week prior to the Board meetings. The purpose for this is so that Jane can source athlete input for certain items on the agenda.

To raise a topic for discussion please email the Athlete Relationship Manager on kathryn.evans@swimming.org. The first meeting for the Committee is scheduled for January.

Minutes from SCA Meetings
