Event Brief
British Swimming is diving straight in to the new Olympiad with the creation of a brand new event to accompany a re-shuffle of the national calendar and trials system.
The British Gas Swimming Championships, doubling up this season as trials for the 2013 World Aquatics Championships, will be held in June and the International Meet in March will become a regular mid-season fixture in the annual calendar.
This season, the competition will be the domestic benchmark meet on the Development Programme and will be the trials for the European Junior Championships and the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2013.
