The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Craig Gibbons

After reaching the 100m Freestyle final at the 2003 European Junior Championships in Glasgow, Craig Gibbons won his first British Champs medal with 100m Freestyle bronze in 2004.

He competed at the 2008 and 2009 European Short Course Championships in Rijeka and Istanbul respectively, finishing sixth in the 100m Freestyle at the latter

Gibbons won 100m Freestyle bronze at both the 2011 and 2012 British Gas Swimming Championships, his performance in 2012 earning him a spot on the British team for the London 2012 Olympic Games

He made his senior long course European debut later in 2012 before his Olympic bow in London, swimming the anchor leg for the 4x100m Freestyle Relay quartet.
