British Gas Stockport ITC
Stockport Metro Swimming club offers a strong club environment with excellent youth and junior programmes. It has enjoyed a long history of success at major championships, winning medals and breaking countless British and Commonwealth records. Since moving to Grand Central Pools, 14 athletes have qualified for Olympic Games and Stockport has produced four Olympic medallists.
British Swimming's ITC Programme is based at Grand Central Pools and driven by ITC Head Coach Sean Kelly, the former Head Coach of Stockport Metro. Sean is one of Britain’s most successful coaches, having trained marathon swimmers Keri-Anne Payne and Cassie Patten to medals at the Beijing Olympic Games and four years earlier, took Steve Parry to an Olympic medal in Athens.
Sean is supported by Assistant Coach Lars Humer, who joined the Stockport ITC in January 2010. Prior to his appointment, Lars was Head Coach to the British Gas Disability Team since 2002, and over this time Lars has provided some of the world’s best Paralympians with vital coaching support.
All training facilities and sports science support are accessible on site to ITC athletes. Stockport Sports Trust and British Swimming have invested extra resources in the centre, providing a brand new High Performance land conditioning suite, complete with all the latest technology and equipment, a new camera system and technical analysis area, which will be available for exclusive use of the ITC athlete group.

ITC Stockport Accommodation prices
The University of Manchester
There are differences in the rent payable for the variety of accommodation that the University offers. These differences are mostly based on the range of facilities available within the study bedroom and whether or not catering is included.
- Typically costs are £50 - £100 per week (£3,825 - £4,000 pa)
The cost of a room with a washbasin will be about £7 a week more than the rent for a standard room without washbasin. The en suite rooms are on average £22 a week more than the washbasin room. Catered accommodation is on average £28 a week more than self-catered accommodation. This fee covers a range of facilities and services at the University besides the accommodation itself.
For catered accommodation, the cost is already included in the fees. These typically include breakfast and dinner - Monday to Friday - all utilities, such as gas, electricity and water, and are covered in the fees.
University of Salford
The University of Salford offers a variety of accommodation at different costs which is dependant upon the facilities of the halls of residency including catered/self catered, en suite bathrooms and shared facilities. Contracts range from 40 – 52 weeks and are paid in four installements.

Manchester Metropolitan University
MMU offers a range of self-catering halls accommodation ranging from 2-6 rooms per flat. Contracts range from 40-42 weeks.
