Jodie Cowie’s GB Journey: Exam Time!

15th May 2013

In January 2013, 15-year old Jodie Cowie was selected to train with the British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming Team. She decided to write a blog to keep track of her exciting first year with the team.

Hi everyone!

Again, it’s been a long time since I have posted on here but I have been really busy with training and revising for exams!

I had my first two exams of the year yesterday, Biology and PE, which I sat at a school in Aldershot instead of my school, Highworth, because it’s closer to where I live and train.

I'm pleased to say I think the exams went quite well and I'm trying to concentrate on the ones next week now.

My mum has been up for the past couple of days to make sure I was revising and to test me on my subjects – and it was really helpful! I’m pleased to say I think the exams went quite well and I’m trying to concentrate on the ones next week now. I think I have six in three days!

In synchro news it’s only five weeks until the Spanish Open! It has come around extremely quickly – I can’t believe I’ve been with the team for more than three months already. We’ve been give a sort of kit list for the competition so we have been trying to sort out what we have and haven’t got.

I’ve ordered two new training bikinis for while we’re in Malta which is really exciting. The designs are really cool – one of them is based on the Queen of Hearts and the other is called ‘Jazzy Skulls’! That one sounds a bit strange but it is actually very nice!

Our domestic camp starts next week which means we will be training from 7am until 5pm on most days. It’s going to be hard and intense but it will mean we get our best result at competition. I’m allowed time off to go to my exams but I would like to get back to training as soon as possible so that I don’t miss out on too much!

I think that’s all for this post. Better get back to revision!
