In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

In the Pool

Aspirations: To experience the Olympics and to medal with Team GB!

Training regime: We train six days a week with emphasis on S&C, flexibility, acrobatics, synchronised swimming, speed swimming

Who has been greatest influence on you: Kate Coupar who has always been there and has encouraged me to always push myself and to have fun doing it!

When did you begin synchro: When I was nine-years old I attended a taster course at Oxford Brookes University and fell in love with it! I joined Witney & District soon after and then later joined Reading Royals.

Out of the Pool

Family members: My sister is training to be a nurse at Southampton University and is my best friend always making me laugh and smile! My father works with a construction company and comes to watch me regularly and gets me to where I need to be.

My Mum is a special needs teacher and helps me organise things and in her spare time enjoys our garden and keeping fit. We also have 2 black cats; Meg and Mog.

Studies: I have just completed my GSCE's and plan on starting my AS levels after the Olympic year.

Other sports: I enjoy playing many sports including Netball, Rounders, Hockey, Badminton and Basketball.

Ultimate relaxation: Bubble Bath followed my chick flick movie with cat on my lap.

One thing you can't live without: My Mobile!!

Last book read: I'm currently reading the highway code! Very exciting..!

Tip for the top: Put in what you want to get out of life and enjoy all that you do!

Life after swimming: I am looking into training as a chiropractor and would love to travel with an elite squad working with the athletes. I really enjoy being part of a competitive team!

Favourites

Sports team: I don’t really have a favourite sports team, I enjoy watching most sports and wish that synchro and gymnastics were given more coverage on television  because they are truly amazing to watch!

Films: Avatar, Fantastic Mr Fox, Classic Disney Films!
