In the Pool

Aspirations: This season I would love to place and swim well at the World Championships. My big dream is the 2012 Olympics! It is always on my mind.

Training regime: We train more than 40 hours a week at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre and Bisham Abby Sports Centre on Saturdays.

Who has been greatest influence on you: My old coaches Julia Warren and Sheilagh Croxon as well as my parents and family.

When did you begin swimming: Started swimming lessons around the age of 3 to get my badges. Also wanted to go into the Bronze Cross and Lifeguarding.

When did you begin synchro: I began synchro at the age of 7. I saw it on TV and absolutely fell in love with it. My parents took me to the best club in Ontario, the Olymium Synchronzied Swimming Club.

Out of the Pool

Family members: My dad was in the ballet at a young age of 9 in Ballet Rambert and danced with the Royal, later moved to Canada at the age of 17 with the National Ballet of Canada. My little sister was also involved in a lot of sports when she was younger, but now has chosen her sporting career in horse riding.

Studies: After completing my high school diploma with honours, I did a year of university at the University of Toronto (Mississauga campus), before I centralized with the Canadian Team.

Other sports: Don’t have time, but I enjoy playing many different sports for fun with my friends.

Ultimate relaxation: Spending time cuddled up in front of the TV watching films or just regular programmes.

One thing you can’t live without: My iPhone.

Last book read: James Patterson – my favourite author.

Tip for the top: The poem “A State of Mind”. Also the quote, “Winning the trophy is a wonderful thing. But if you’re not good enough with it, then you’re not good enough without it”. It was told to me by a motivational speaker, it means that you need to deserve it and be good enough to win that trophy, not coast through and win by slacking.

Life after swimming: Is completely up in the air! I would love to go to school and become a psychologist. I would like to become a teacher to special-needs kids or be the complete opposite and become a criminal profiler/psychologist.

Favourites

Sports team: That's a tough one; I don’t have one over here. If I had to say one I would pick Arsenal...but I have to support my home team and say the Toronto Maple Leafs (Ice Hockey).

Films: Favourite movie would be Ever After, but I am a huge film addict! Favourite funny movie would be the Hangover! I have loads to list!!!

Band/Music: I love all music except screaming bands. Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, pretty much anything top 40!

Food: Love Thai food! If I had to choose anything though it would be my Mom’s cooking!

Drink: Pepsi Max!

Hobbies: Love shopping, spending time with my friends and family, going to the cinema and going out dancing.
