16th January 2012

Dan Laxton led AZ&PC to their first Dutch KNZB-Cup victory in 13 years with a five goal haul in the final in Amsterdam.

The British player has been a constant threat in front of goal this season and impressed on the biggest domestic stage in the Netherlands to help his side lift the national cup for the sixth time in their history and the first time since 1999.

Laxton was ever-present as AZ&PC made their way to the final, scoring four in their 11-4 quarter final first leg victory over JTT-KNZB as well as one in their 10-9 semi-final defeat of Schuurman BZC.

But the Brit stepped up another level against Electrolux AZC in the final, leading his side to a 10-7 victory on the day with a virtuoso performance.

Electrolux had beaten Alex Parsonage’s UZSC in the quarter finals, winning 18-17 on aggregate despite four goals over the two legs from the Brit.
