National Talent Camps

On 11 and 12 January 2014, trials will be held in Cardiff for boys and girls U14s (born 2001), U15s (born 2000) and U17s (born 1998,1999).

Players in the U15s and U17s age groups will be invited to attend both Saturday and Sunday while the U14s age groups will attend either Saturday or Sunday depending on where they live. Saturday invitees will be those living furthest away, Sunday living nearest.

All trialists will be profiled and expected to:

  1. Make swim times (distances and times TBC).
  2. Show good core skills (eggbeater leg kick, passing, shooting).
  3. Show a good understanding and knowledge of water polo through game play.
  4. Demonstrate good physical ability for the sport.

From these trials, players will either be selected or offered areas for improvement with a possibility of a re-trial at a later date, subject to re-nomination by their RTC.

Those selected will form the basis of the squads mentioned above.

  • The U15s will work towards competing in European competition as U19s in 2018.
