The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Fiona McCann

Fiona McCann is one of the most experienced defenders in Great Britain, having competed at Olympic, World Championship, European Championship and Commonwealth level.

She played in the 2005 European Youth Championships in Portugal before stepping up to the senior team in 2006, competing with the Brits at the Commonwealth Championships in Perth.

Having played in European qualification tournaments in 2006, 2008 and 2010, she was part of the British team to compete at the 2012 European Championships in Eindhoven, finishing seventh.

McCann then excelled against the top teams in world water polo at the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2013 World Championships in Barcelona.
