Fran Clayton comes from a strong water polo family background, following in the footsteps of her mother Judi who was a captain of the GB team.

She quickly established herself as a first team regular, playing in World League qualifiers in 2010 and helping the Brits reach their first senior European Championships in 15 years during 2011.
Over the next two seasons, she played with the British team at the 2012 European Championships, London 2012 Olympic Games and 2013 World Championships.

When did you start playing water polo: I started at Bedale Swimming and Water Polo Club at the age of eight. But I've been attending matches for as long as I can remember.
Out Of The Pool
Other sports: My favourite is gymnastics but I don't compete any more.
Ultimate relaxation: Spa if it's on offer or the sofa with a duvet, a film and some chocolate.
One thing you can't live without: Ludo...
