In the Pool

Greatest achievement to date: Playing in the World Student Games in Shenzhen, China.

Aspiration: To play in the 2012 London Olympics

Who has been greatest influence on you: Sandy Nitta – without her I wouldn’t be where I am today!  Also the support from my parents and sister.

When did you start playing water polo: When I was 12 years old.

Out of the Pool

Studies/Work: Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Manchester, and administrative worker at Sainsbury’s.

Other sports: Enjoy yoga and kick boxing.

Ultimate relaxation: Being on a family holiday somewhere hot and tropical.

One thing you can’t live without: Family

Tip for the top: Never give up. Strength does not come from winning.  Your struggles develop your strength.  When you go through hardship and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

Life after water polo: I will return to University and study medicine because I would like to be a doctor.  I also would like to coach water polo.

Favourites

Films: Pretty Woman, GI Jane, Black Swan, Blue Crush, Singing in the Rain.

Band/Music: Adam Lambert, Muse

Drink: Dr. Pepper

Hobbies: Reading, playing the piano, relaxing with friends, going out for coffee.

Sports team: Manchester City Football Club

Sportsperson: Joe Hart
