Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

In the Pool

Greatest achievement to date: European B’s in Prague, voted best Goalkeeper.

Aspiration: To play (and medal) in 2012. To play professionally abroad. To win Goalkeeper of the tournament at a European A championships.  

Who has been greatest influence on you: Jim Caulfield, for helping make me into a goalkeeper, and getting me so interested in water polo.

When did you start playing water polo: Aged 15.

Out of the Pool

Studies/Work: Have just finished working at Manchester Grammar School to train full time for London 2012. Studying Personal Finance through the Open University.

Other sports: Like a good game of tennis in the sun, and watching the football on tv.

Ultimate relaxation: Sunbathing on the beach in gorgeous weather, with headphones in and a good book!

One thing you can’t live without: Food! I LOVE food!

Tip for the top: Enjoy yourself! If you're going to dedicate so much time to playing, you might as well try and enjoy every minute!

Life after water polo: See the world and have some fun!

Favourites

Films: Rom Coms, and Thrillers!

Band/Music: Love pretty much all music, but Take That are my total fave!

Food: This is tough! I love all food! Favourites are all the naughty bits - cakes, chocs etc!

Drink: Raspberry and Pomegranite Fruitiser.

Hobbies: Eating, sleeping, eating some more. Watching films, travelling, sunbathing!

Sports team: Aston Villa

Sportsperson: Easy… David Beckham!  

Most prized possession: My gorgeous necklace my mum got made for me for getting in the Olympics!
