Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Greatest achievement to date: Being awarded the best defender in a tournament in Russia.

Aspiration: To medal at the Olympics.

Greatest influence: My parents - for driving me everywhere when I was younger. I have also been lucky enough to have some excellent coaches, both past and present.

When did you start playing water polo: When I was 13 with my local club in Halesowen.

Out of the Pool

Studies/Work: I have just finished a PhD in Chemical Engineering and am currently completing a part-time Graduate Diploma in Law.

Other sports: Athletics (High Jump and 800m) and Climbing.

Ultimate relaxation: Spending time with friends.

One thing you can't live without: Hair straighteners.

Tip for the top: Always train to the best of your ability and at the highest level you can.

Life after water polo: I can't imagine not being involved in Water Polo in some capacity and would like to put something back into the sport by coaching and refereeing.

Band/Music: A random mix of old and new - from Eminem to the Arctic Monkeys to Take That.

Food: My Dad's roast dinner.

Drink: Lucozade.

Hobbies: Climbing, reading and seeing my friends.

Most prized possession: My kittens, Timmy and Tigger.
