We have a vacancy for an ambitious, committed, and enthusiastic part-time assistant coach at Windsor Swimming Club. We are looking for someone to work alongside our head coach to developing and maximise the performance of the club at all levels.

The club is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual ideally qualified to ASA Club Coach UKCC Level 2 (working towards UKCC Level 3).

Hours: 18+ coaching hours per week and all competitions within the swimming season



  • UKCC Level 2 qualification (working towards UKCC Level 3)
  • Must complete a DBS check (on receipt of the check can teach/coach)
  • Nationally recognised Pool Rescue qualification (or a commitment to obtain such a qualification within an acceptable timescale)

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of LTAD and swimming to an appropriate level, technical knowledge
  • Good time management, organisation and administration skills
  • Ability to work with and encourage swimmers of all abilities
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently


  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions in accordance with LTAD and the criteria for the squad
  • Ensure that swimmers are aware of their progress and to hold regular meetings with parents
  • Liaise with the head coach to ensure that there are regular, appropriate, competitive opportunities for all swimmers
  • Remain aware of the technical rules of swimming strokes as they change. Commitment to attending CPD opportunities when made available to club coaching staff
  • Be responsible primarily for the county squad, but also coach other squads as and when requested by the head coach
  • Provide cover for the other coaches where necessary
  • Attend meetings and appropriate training courses where requested by the head coach
  • Abide by all policies and codes as required by the club (signed agreement)
  • Follow and promote the ASA Child Protection policy
