Thanet Swim Club, based in Margate, has a vacancy for a full time Assistant Head Coach. The club is affiliated to Kent ASA and Swim England South East Region and holds SwimMark accreditation. With approximately 300 swimmers, the club offers swimming for ages 5 – 21 and for all abilities.
A successful club, that have qualified for the Finals weekend of Arena League for the past 4 years, we regularly produce National swimmers/medallists and over the past few years, have achieved International success, placing swimmers on GB Junior teams.
Working closely with our Head coach, Dan Cross, the role will help co-ordinate the training for the Performance Age Group and Junior swimming squads. The successful candidate must be highly passionate about developing and nurturing talented young swimmers and keen to work as part of a team in a high-performance environment with swimmers ranging in age and standard from club, county, regional and national standard.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Junior squad coaches, co-ordinating training and swimmer progression, whilst leading the training of our Age Group Performance squad. They must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, time management and be IT proficient. Alongside regular training sessions the role also requires attendance at all the major championships and galas planned for the squads, plus some other open meets during the year.
The role will also incorporate leading the land based training of the club. With a new land based training room being completed, we would be looking for a motivated individual to continue to support our swimmers in the provision of land based training. (Appropriate qualifications are preferred, but not essential, as support and training will be provided)
Reporting To- Head Coach, Chairman
Main Role - Performance Age Group and Junior Coaching
Working Hours - 23+ hours coaching
