Southwark Aquatics Swimming Club is a small-community based competitive swimming club based in the London Borough of Southwark. Our club is growing and we require a positive, supportive, inclusive and progressive individual to join the coaching team, working as Senior Coach with our Development Squads.

Part of the role will be working with our Head Coach building, developing, implementing and monitoring the training plan. Most sessions are based at our 33.3m pool in Seven Islands Leisure Centre in Southwark with one session a week at the 25m pool in the Castle Leisure Centre pool based in Elephant and Castle.

The role is for 7-12 hours per week, paid at a rate of £20 per hour (plus £60 per day for coaching at any open meet we enter, attended by our swimmers).

You will have full planning responsibility of the Development Squad (3 levels) at the Club, with 2 assistant coaches supporting you. This role is a key coaching position at the Club focussing on the backbone of our membership so be prepared to bring dedication, energy and commitment to the Club and role.

This role will ideally suit an individual looking to gain experience of Club coaching at a senior level. If you have the dedication to succeed, and want to work in a fun environment we want to hear from you!

We’d like to hear from you if you are:

  • enthusiastic
  • self-motivated
  • organised
  • a great communicator/motivator.

As a minimum, you must be qualified to ASA Level 2 coaching (Swim England Swimming Coach certificate) but an ASA Level 3 qualification (Swim England Senior Coach certificate) is preferred.

What now?

Are you ready for a challenge? We’d like to recruit a coach who has great communication skills, a friendly personality and an enthusiasm for competitive Swimming, coaching and developing their potential.
