Turner Swim is run by a former Great Britain aquatic team member, providing bespoke one-to-one adult swimming lesson programmes at the five star Le Meridien Hotel Piccadilly. Turner Swim is recruiting to meet the rapidly growing demand for lessons.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic Level 2 ASA or equivalent qualified swimming teacher or coach with a competitive aquatics background, who holds or is working towards a degree (any subject) and who has a real passion for developing their teaching and coaching experience further. The role will suit experienced instructors or newly qualified teachers as fully paid Turner Swim instructor training is provided. Prior experience either competing in or coaching for open water or triathlon events is desirable but not essential.
The role will initially be teaching one-to-one adults for 10-15 hours per week, with timing to be agreed with the successful candidate. The hours will probably include two early mornings, two evenings and a Saturday session each week.
Turner Swim is looking to rapidly expand to meet the growing client demands for its adult learn-to-swim and open water/triathlon programme as well as Tiny Turner Swim’s lessons for 3-6 year olds. Turner Swim is also preparing for the introduction of swimming lessons for 6-11 year olds from September 2014 with additional teaching hours available then. There is also the possibility of a full-time Turner Swim and Tiny Turner Swim teaching role that includes a small number of administration hours for the right candidate from January 2015, or full-time from April 2014 with other hours available through lifeguarding and retail work.
This role will suit someone who is genuinely excited and passionate about swimming teaching and coaching, and is looking to expand their teaching and management career as Turner Swim grows.
Duties will include:
delivering fantastic bespoke one-to-one adult lessons following the Turner Swim programme syllabus and teaching methods
building a strong relationship with both clients and facility staff
expanding swimming and triathlon knowledge through attending regular Turner Swim instructor development sessions
providing updates on client progression
ensuring a safe learning environment is provided for clients, hotel guests and spa staff
