While they have been in Division Two since 2006, Gloucestershire are one of the most competitive second tier counties, their closest recent brush with promotion coming with a sixth place finish in 2009.
Last year’s 384 point haul saw Gloucestershire finished eighth as Soundwell swimmer William Cole gave their score a significant boost with maximum points in both the 100m Free and 100m Fly.
Cole has carried over his form into the 2015 season and comes into this year’s ASA National County Team Champs off the back four medals – including individual 100m Free gold – at the British Summer Champs.
In the women’s events, a reproduction of Southwold swimmer Jessica Shaw’s PB 1:03.32 from last year’s 100m Back could also see her bring home some big points in the top age group.
Meanwhile, Soundwell’s Anna Soteriou was the fastest 12-year old in last year’s 12/13 Yrs 100m Fly and could finish well-placed in her second year in the age group, especially if she can improve on her 1:09.99 effort from 12 months ago.
