Middlesex have become a consistent top-five team at the County Team Champs with last year’s fifth place on 382 points stretching their run of top-five finishes to seven years.
Georgie Boyle kicked things off perfectly 12 months ago, winning maximum points in the opening event – the girls’ 16/17 Yrs 100m Freestyle.
But while Boyle also finished first in the 14/15 Yrs 100m Free in 2014, she remains the only Middlesex swimmer to have won a County Team Champs event since 2013.
The county’s current crop will be hoping to end that record this year, not least Teddington’s Sophie Fussell, who finished second in the 12/13 Yrs 100m Breaststroke at the past two County Team Champs.
Brompton’s Spencer Williams also impressed last year to finish second in the 14/15 Yrs 100m Butterfly. She returns for her first year in the 16/17 Yrs age group, having made the 50m, 100m and 200m Fly finals at this year’s British Summer Champs.
Another British Summer Champs finalist from this year is Chelsea & Westminster’s Charlotte O’Leary, who was seventh in the 13/14 Yrs 50m Backstroke in July.
