Northumberland & Durham

Northumberland & Durham ASA County Team Champs

Four-time champions Northumberland & Durham returned to form last year, finishing fourth to secure their best finish since 2011.

Jane Brown was the county’s only event winner last time out, taking maximum points in the 14/15 Yrs 100m Butterfly.

And while Brown isn’t competing at this year’s event, Northumberland & Durham return with a typically strong hand.

Tynemouth’s Will Morris scooped a pair of individual silvers at this year’s British Summer Championships. The 14-year old touched second in the 50m Free and 50m Fly, as well as finishing fourth in the 100m Fly.

City of Sunderland’s Rachel Taylor also came away with a fourth place from Ponds Forge in the 16 Yrs 50m Breast. She also made the 100m Breast final, finishing fifth.

In the youngest age group, Stockton’s Melody Jones has happy memories of competing in Sheffield this season. She scooped double silver over 100m and 200m Fly at the ASA Summer Nationals.
