Sussex will be aiming to bounce back from their 12th place finish in Division Two last year, having been a competitive top flight team until their relegation in 2011.
With no race victories last year, Shiverers swimmer Joel Thompson was the last person to claim maximum points for the county, winning the 12/13 Yrs 100m Free in 2014.
Thompson wasn’t far off the top spot in last year’s 14/15 Yrs 100m Fly, and returns for his third County Team Champs as a key player in the Sussex team, having landed six individual medals, including 200m Freestyle gold, at this year’s British Summer Championships.
Crawley’s Abby Jackson could also be battling for big points in the middle age group this year, having finished fourth over 100m Butterfly at the British Summer Champs.
In the top age group, Harry Stacey’s PB 52.19 puts him among the top ranked entries in the 100m Free, while Hailsham swimmers Milly Widdop and Daniel Flint both made breaststroke finals at this year’s ASA Summer Nationals.
