Anthony Harding completes springboard hat-trick

Anthony Harding completed his clean sweep of springboard titles with Group A 1m gold on day three of the British Junior Elite Diving Championships 2017.

The 16-year old City of Leeds diver dominated both prelim and final, ultimately finishing more than 47 points clear to upgrade from his silver 12 months ago on 481.45.

The result brought Harding’s third title in as many days, having claimed 3m Synchro gold with William Hallam on Sunday then added victory in the 3m Springboard yesterday.

Oliver Crompton ensured a Leeds 1-2 with silver on 434.00 while Scotland’s Lucas Thompson took bronze on 415.60.

Cutmore pushes Heslop close in Group B 1m

The Group B age group also saw yesterday’s champion claim a second individual gold as Wales’ Aidan Heslop defended his title from last year.

Competing in Group B for the first time, Luton’s Ben Cutmore pushed Heslop all the way in the final, scoring 381.55.

But the Welsh diver held his nerve in the final round to retain his crown, finishing on 383.25.

After finishing top of the prelim, Southampton’s Cameron Gammage repeated his result from yesterday’s 3m with bronze on 379.55.

Milo French captures Platform gold

Gammage’s Southampton teammate Milo French claimed the club’s first individual gold of the Championships with victory in the Group C Platform.

French had already teamed up with training partner Robbie Lee for victory in the 9-13 Yrs 3m Synchro on the opening day in Plymouth.

And the 11-year old showed his versatility to score 325.00 for victory from the Platform.

Scotland’s Kade Hamilton was second on 317.80 while Lee claimed bronze on 307.55.
