Cutmore and Waxman win individual golds as GB juniors win 7 Nations title

English divers Ben Cutmore and Holly Waxman won individual golds as Great Britain won the 7 Nations Youth Diving Meet 2017 trophy in France.

Scarlett Mew Jensen and Maria Papworth also combined for 3m Synchro gold as the British junior team racked up 13 medals at the competition in Bourg-en-Bresse.

Cutmore’s victory came in the Group B 3m Springboard as the Luton diver led home a British one-two with Southend’s Tyler Humphreys.

Cutmore, who was named England Programmes diver of the year at the 2016 ASA Aquatics Awards, scored 432.50 for his nine dives. Humphreys was the only other diver in the field to break 400 points on 418.30.

The Southend teenager also picked up bronze in the 1m event, scoring 355.15 as France’s Jules Bouyer took gold on 364.70.

Waxman, who dives at City of Bradford Esprit, impressed to win 3m gold and 1m silver in the Group B age group.

She won the 3m title with 357.80, narrowly holding off Germany’s Julia Deng (353.75) with City of Leeds’ Callie Eaglestone third with 350.10.

Deng reversed the placings on the 1m, winning gold on 319.05 but Waxman’s 317.20 was the only other score over 300 points.

Harding and Hallam land three medals each

City of Leeds’ Anthony Harding and William Hallam enjoyed a successful weekend, winning three medals each.

Harding scooped silver and Hallam bronze in both the Group A 1m and 3m while the pair combined for silver in the 3m Synchro.

Dive London’s Mew Jensen and Papworth won the girls’ 3m Synchro title on 257.55 for their five dives, while Mew Jensen also scooped bronze in the Group A 1m Springboard.
