Haffety leads home Sheffield clean sweep on day four

Millie Haffety retained her Group A 1m Springboard title as City of Sheffield claimed four of nine girls’ medals on the final day of the 2017 British Junior Elite Diving Championships.

Yasmin Harper and Sarah Leach joined Haffety on the podium as Sheffield landed the only clean sweep of the Championships before Richelle Holden struck Group C 3m gold later in the day.

Haffety came into the event in confident mood, having finished fourth from the 3m at last weekend’s Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix in Gatineau.

And the teenager used all her experience to take gold with the last dive of the final, ultimately finishing on 378.95.

Harper matched her result from the 3m for silver on 378.15 while Leach scored 374.55 for bronze.

Bradley bounces back to seal Group B gold

Louise Bradley became the third individual female gold medallist in the Group B age group with victory in the 1m Springboard.

The Crystal Palace diver put any disappointment at missing out on the 3m final well and truly behind her as she took the title on 302.25.

Bradley’s teammate and Platform champion Eden Cheng won silver on 298.75 while City of Bradford Esprit’s 3m champion Holly Waxman claimed bronze on 296.55.

Houlden captures first Elite Junior title

Richelle Houlden was an impressive winner of the Group C 3m Springboard, taking victory by more than 38 points.

The City of Sheffield diver won both prelim and final in Plymouth, ultimately scoring 339.85.

Plymouth’s Evangeline Piper won her third individual medal with silver to go with her Platform gold and 1m silver.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Evie Smith repeated her result from the 1m Springboard to reach the podium again with bronze on 293.10.
