Laugher and Mears win third silver of 2017 World Series

Jack Laugher and Chris Mears continued their solid start to the season with a third silver on the 2017 FINA Diving World Series.

Repeating their result from the past two legs of the World Series, the Olympic champions scored 420.42 for their six dives to finish behind China’s Cao Yuan and Xie Siyi (458.82).

There was also double synchro success for Tom Daley as he teamed up with Dan Goodfellow in the 10m Synchro and Scotland’s Grace Reid in the Mixed 3m Synchro.

Olympic bronze medallists Daley and Goodfellow scored 406.38 to place behind China (462.57) and Germany (408.54).

In the Mixed 3m Synchro, European champions Daley and Reid scored 299.82 to land bronze behind pairs from China (322.50) and Canada (320.76).

Daley’s third medal of an impressive weekend came in the individual 10m Platform.

The Dive London diver scored 543.80 in the final to secure the final step on the podium. China’s Chen Aisen and Yang Hao claimed a one-two on 580.60 and 574.80 respectively.

There were also fourth places for Olympic silver medallist Jack Laugher in the 3m Springboard and the new 3m Synchro partnership of Reid and Kat Torrance.
