Strong prospects to begin making impacts in senior teams

“The divers selected form the best of our Team J, who we see as strong prospects in the coming season to begin making impacts in our senior teams,” said Bellan

“The opportunity to compete on the senior circuit in these early season Grand Prix’s form part of the Tokyo cycle strategy as we look to new divers and increase international experience.

“Both venues are only a short one hour hop from each other and provide the chance to compete in iconic stadia in hot and humid conditions.

“The Grand Prix will give experience in travelling east and with a relatively short turn around dealing with jetlag.”

Cheng, Martin and Harding to make Grand Prix debuts

Crystal Palace diver Cheng will compete at this level for the first time, having won European Junior Platform gold earlier this season.

Southampton’s Martin and City of Leeds diver Harding will also be making their debuts at a senior Grand Prix.

Kothari, Mew Jensen and Harper all carry over experience from the previous leg of the 2017 Diving Grand Prix in Bolzano, Italy.

Dive London’s Kothari won silver in the Platform event while Mew Jensen (Dive London) and Harper (City of Sheffield) won gold in the 3m Synchro.
