City of Sheffield take double gold in session seven

City of Sheffield take double gold thanks to Maisie Bond and Bron Jenkinson, while Crystal Palace won the Dawdon Shield Team Trophy for the best overall team performance.

Jenkinson was a good distance ahead of the competition after the sixth round of dives, and the Sheffield diver nailed his last two rounds to finish with 332.55, 17 points ahead of second.

He commented: “Winning gold is one of the most incredible feelings ever, I didn’t know where I was until I saw the score on the results board, it was incredible to find out I’d won it.

“I had no idea where I was, and I was so nervous when I got on the board for the front three and a half, but when I hit that water…I was celebrating so hard under the water.

“I’m not sure what is next, I might be giving it (diving) up, but I might carry on until next year. That gold might just have given me the confidence to stay for another year.”
