2008 Winners
Bronze: Hawkins Family; Stratford-upon-Avon
Mum Terri, Dad Jim, Georgina age 10, Jake age 8, Lewis age 4
All the children take part in weekly lessons and holiday crash courses and swimming is their favourite past time. They also swim as a family every weekend and will only go on holiday to places where there's a pool. Mum Terri is particulary proud of them as she never learnt to swim as a child and still not a confident as the children.
Silver: O’Brien Family; Staines, Middlesex
Ciara age 17 and Lisa & Sinead age 14 (twins)
Ciara has been swimming since 1995 and twins Lisa and Sinead since 1998. In that time they've taken part in all levels from Aquatots to splash fitness completing all the awards from Duckling to Rainbow distance and more. The girls are great role models for other youngsters, enjoying their swimming as part of a fun and active healthy lifestyle.
Gold: Killen Family; Southampton
Mum Sarah, Dad Paul, Harriet age 8, Charlie age 5, Bertie age 4, Sidnie age 2
Swimming is really important to the family and all the children swim weekly in lessons or on swimming squads. Mum Sarah continued the hour-long journey to the pool 5 times a week despite dad Paul being in Basra. Paul was so inspired by his children that on his return from the war zone, he trained as an asa qualified swimming teacher.
