2009 Winner
Gold
Jack Dudley
Age: 7
Lives: Brayton, Yorkshire
Jack saved his three-year-old brother, Sam, from drowning in his family’s swimming pool, in May 2008. His mother had gone inside and his father had his back turned when Sam pulled his armbands off and tried to jump onto an inflatable lounger. He slipped and sank to the bottom of the pool.
Jack dived in to get his brother and after two attempts he managed to bring him up to the surface, where he was pulled out by his mother and brought back to life. Jack knew what to do because he had been having Rookie life-saving classes with his swimming club.
