Training with the IoS
The Institute of Swimming (IoS) provides swim teacher training in England. It is the largest trainer of swimming teachers and coaches in the country and also provides training in leisure centres and sports clubs.
When it comes to teacher and coach education, people often ask how the IoS differs from the ASA as both deal with swimming courses.
The IoS is the provider of ASA courses and the ASA is the examining body for qualifications. Think of it this way, the IoS is like the college or university that delivers the courses and ASA Awarding Body is the examination board that approves the results and hands out the certificates.
Cutting edge education
The IoS runs the latest UKCC courses, continuing professional development opportunities and deliver hundreds of swim teacher training courses across the country.
The Institute of Swimming is a Centre of Excellence for aquatics instruction and is the ideal first step for anyone wishing to train to be an instructor, teacher or coach, or to improve existing qualifications to get to that next step on the careers ladder.
