Try Out Aqua Aerobics

Aqua aerobics is much the same as an aerobics class in a gym studio, often performing moves to music and using equipment to boost the workout.

Typical aqua aerobics classes include all the exercises you would expect in a ‘dry’ class but with added bonuses you can only get from exercising in water. These include:

  • The water supports your body by bearing up to 90% of your weight.
  • The pressure of the water helps your heart move blood around your body.
  • The temperature of the water helps stop you getting too warm.
  • Some enjoy a greater range of motion in the water.

You can build up your core strength for swimming and enjoy the benefits of exercising in the water.

This may incluse aqua dumbbells, kickboards or hydro discs.

Lots of the kit floats, so you work harder the further down you hold it in the water, as there is more pressure.
