Spirit Health Clubs announce Swimfit link-up

Spirit Health Clubs have become the first national operator to launch British Gas Swimfit across their service.

The Swimfit poolside offering involves session cards for different standards of swimmer, as well as group sessions for those looking for tips and guidance from qualified trainers.

Head to www.swimfit.com to find out more about British Gas Swimfit.Spirit Health Clubs - which are part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) - will launch Swimfit across all 40 of its sites from 7 October 2013.

"We had been looking for a swimming based programme for some time which would offer our pool users the same level of engagement and progressive goal settings that gym users currently receive," said Mark Mantell, Spirit Health and Fitness Operations Manager.

For our clubs teams, Swimfit represents more than just a group activity session for members and a series of swimming programme cards, it is a vehicle through which we can better support and engage all our members who primarily use only the swimming pool. It is also a value added service we can offer to hotel residents to enhance their hotel stay experience.

"Swimfit can now be incorporated into our member programming right from the initial induction, though to exercise prescription and also into our club member retention initiatives. The scheme has also provided us with an opportunity to up skill our club staff who will deliver the programme. They in turn have welcomed having another skill and qualification to add to their resume.”
