The British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway is the national syllabus to assist and support the delivery of swimming lessons.
Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.
In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.
The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.
The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington joined a group of lucky school children this week to launch the British Gas Pools 4 Schools initiative at Barr’s Hill School in Coventry.

Learning to swim at an early age can ultimately go on to save a child’s life and with drowning being the third most common cause of accidental death in children, it’s concerning to learn that one in three children are now leaving school unable to swim.

Kellogg’s has announced a funding package of £100,000, which can be used for school swimming projects that will help increase the number of children learning to swim in the areas that need it most.
